Job summary

Layup Parts is hiring a Controls/Automation Software Engineer to join our robotics and software team. You will own production machine automation systems, including ovens and autoclaves, and support automated systems while pushing new features forward.

The role requires 3+ years of software experience with strong C++ skills, plus hands-on work with hardware interfaces and sensors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering, strong C++ skills.
• Experience with controls systems like factory automation or robotics.
• Comfort with hardware interfaces, not only application software.
• Strong debugging across software and physical systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting with limited doc.
• Understanding of sensors, actuators, and feedback in controlled systems.
• Willingness to support production issues while advancing new features.

Responsibilities

• Serve as core support and build resource for robotics and automation software.
• Own production machine automation systems including ovens and autoclaves.
• Carry outputs from R&D into production and maintain them.
• Field and resolve issues from automated systems with lasting solutions.
• Advance new automation features alongside ongoing support.
