Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical/Robotics Engineering Technician to support our Manufacturing Division. You’ll combine hands-on design work with problem solving and direct customer interaction to develop automation solutions on the production floor.

You will use CAD, robotics tooling, vision systems, and fixtures, and engage in design reviews while delivering projects on time and within budget to help production staff grow their skills.

Qualifications

• 2-year+ technical degree or equivalent training/work experience.
• Competence with applied physics, geometry, algebra, and basic trigonometry.
• CAD experience.
• Approximately 2+ years of experience in three or more of: Automation integration, Materials and processes, Mechanics, Manufacturing engineering, Electronic manufacturing techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills—written, verbal, and documentation.
• Quick to learn new skills and open to taking on new responsibilities.
• Works well in team environments.

Responsibilities

• Involved in hands-on design work, problem-solving, and customer collaboration from problem statement to solution integration.
• Develop automation solutions to make production environments safer, more reliable, and more economical.
• Participate in design reviews and provide/receive feedback to ensure quality.
