Job summary

NOVARES in Kentucky is seeking an Automation Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and improve systems including robots, PLCs, and vision systems to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree or technical certification in Automation or Mechatronics, with 3+ years of hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, or similar).
• Experience with industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, Whittman, or similar) preferred.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience with sensors, servo systems, and HMIs preferred.
• Vision inspection systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automation equipment including robots, PLCs, sensors, and vision systems
• Support production by quickly responding to equipment issues and restoring functionality
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automated systems
• Assist with programming, debugging, and modifying PLC and robot programs
• Support new equipment launches, installations, and automation improvements
• Work with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements
• Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
