Job summary

Layup Parts is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to design equipment that automates high-volume tasks on the production floor. You will own projects from design through commissioning, collaborating with software and controls teams to ensure robust, durable equipment and enabling rapid production improvements.

In this high-performance environment, you’ll work with composites and metals, apply first principles physics, and help scale our manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering experience with a strong foundation in engineering principles.
• Strong CAD experience (NX or SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience designing parts (composites and/or metals), systems and mechanisms.
• Familiarity with startups or small teams.
• Comfortable moving fast in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design equipment to support process improvement and automation throughout the factory floor.
• Own equipment from design, test, install and commission, ensuring long-term durability for production use.
• Collaborate with software, controls, and production teams to ensure equipment meets intended functions.
• Develop and implement training programs for new equipment.
