Job summary

Gabletek Robotics and Controls Solutions is seeking a Maintenance & Automation Technician in Spartanburg, SC to support production by maintaining and troubleshooting automated systems, including robotic welding cells and mechanical/electrical equipment.

The role combines mechanical, electrical, and robotic programming expertise to ensure optimal equipment performance and production efficiency, with hands-on preventative maintenance and opportunities to mentor others.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical associate degree or certifications preferred.
Minimum 5 years in industrial maintenance, robotics, automation, or machine repair roles.
Strong knowledge of robotics, industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and welding technologies.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints/schematics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Basic to intermediate PLC and HMI programming experience.
Ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform certifications.
Must wear PPE including steel-toe boots and hard hats.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Oversight: perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment including robotics.
Automation & Robotics Support: troubleshoot, repair, and program robotic systems (ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki) and adjust weld processes.
Technical Proficiency: troubleshoot control systems, drives, motors, sensors, I/O blocks, and HMI/PLC components.
Leadership & Collaboration: mentor junior technicians, conduct toolbox talks, and coordinate with engineering and production teams.
