Job summary
Nemak in Augusta, GA is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and optimize PLC and HMI systems for HPDC processes, and to program and maintain industrial robots such as Fanuc, ABB, or KUKA. You will diagnose automation issues and lead improvements across production lines, aligning with safety standards and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automation engineering.
- Strong expertise in PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and industrial networks; Siemens preferred.
- Experience in die casting or automotive manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and optimizes PLC and HMI programs for HPDC processes.
- Programs, maintains and troubleshoots industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, etc.).
- Troubleshoots automation issues and implements improvements.
- Works with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with industrial automation safety standards.
- Provides training to maintenance teams on automation best practices.
- Optimizes robotic movement and process efficiency.
- Conducts root cause analysis for robotic failures and implements corrective actions.
- Supports installation and commissioning of new robotic cells.
- Other duties as assigned.
