Job summary

Lake Air Products in New Hope, MN is hiring a 1st Robotic Welder Operator to join our metal fabrication team. The role focuses on programming and setting up fixtures, operating robotic welding equipment, and ensuring product quality in a fast-paced environment.

You will read blueprints, adapt fixtures, and monitor welds in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, contributing to precise, repeatable production and continuous improvement in our stamping and fabrication operations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years programming experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of robotics and welding preferred.
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.
• Strong accuracy with few rejects due to cosmetics.

Responsibilities

• Program and set-up fixtures to hold metal components for welding.
• Participate in fixture design to facilitate welding of production parts.
• Develop templates or tooling to hold and align parts; install fixtures for holding metal parts, torch, or arc welding equipment.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces (hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimensional tolerance) to evaluate weld quality.
• Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to meet requirements.
• Audit the quality requirements and rework or complete missing welds after the robotic process.
