Tyson Foods, Inc. is hiring for a locomotive/trackmobile operator on the 2nd shift in the United States. Pay starts at $18.20 per hour plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Schedule Friday through Monday, 2 PM–9 PM, with weekend work as needed.

Candidates must understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions and communicate effectively. The supervisor will interview and hire at their discretion. Rehires are subject to a 91‑day wait and Tyson prohibits hires of staff with multiple prior

Competenze

Mansioni

• Operate locomotive/trackmobile to move rail cars following procedures.
• Coordinate switching cars, coupling, and clearances.
• Handle switches and hand brakes per company programs.
• Walk track to monitor conditions and report irregularities.
• Accurately record data/Dispatch.
• Operate scales and document incoming ingredients via ticketing system.
• Operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to storage silo.
• Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.
• Lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading ingredients.
• Perform minor maintenance duties with hand tools.
• Work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments; exposure to dust.
• Work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as scheduling requires.
• Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
• Sign and abide by Company Biosecurity Guidelines; avoid avian species.
• Maintain good housekeeping in service areas and grounds.
• Communicate with Operations, Customers and Vendors as required.
• Follow Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs; up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Stand, sit, walk, climb stairs; sustain activity throughout the day.
• Complete other tasks assigned by management.

Job Details

Pay is $18.20 per hour PLUS an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.

Schedule: Friday through Monday 2PM to 9PM. Weekend (6 & 7 Day) work required, as needed. Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.

The supervisor will conduct interviews and will choose the best candidate at their discretion.

Job Responsibilities

1. 1. Ability to operate a locomotive/trackmobile to move rail cars by following established procedures and/or specifications. Work and perform all the functions of the Control Room Panel -Batching operator.
2. 2. Ability to coordinate activities such as switching cars from one track to another, coupling railcars together, and/or clearances.
3. 3. Ability to handle switches and hand brakes in accordance with company programs.
4. 4. Ability to walk the length of the track to monitor track conditions and report any irregularities to management.
5. 5. Ability to accurately record data/Dispatch
6. 6. Ability be able to operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system
7. 7. Ability to operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo
8. 8. Ability to obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients
9. 9. Ability to lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients
10. 10. Ability to perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools
11. 11. Ability to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
12. 12. Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling
13. 13. Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
14. 14. Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
15. 15. Maintain good housekeeping including service areas and grounds keeping.
16. 16. Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
17. 17. Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
18. 18. Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
19. 19. Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
20. 20. Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
