Job summary

Stay Alert Safety Services, an AWP Safety Company, is seeking a skilled Sign Installer to join our outdoor construction team in a fast-paced environment. You will install NCDOT signs, read plans, set posts, and ensure safety compliance on active worksites.

Qualifications

• Traffic control experience.
• Ability to read tape measures and construction plans.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to outdoor elements and weather variations.

Responsibilities

• Install NCDOT Type D, E, and F permanent roadside signs according to project plans and specifications.
• Install temporary construction signs using square tubing, portable sign stands, and other mounting systems.
• Read construction plans, sign schedules, and traffic control plans.
• Measure, locate, and mark sign locations accurately.
• Set posts in concrete or driven foundations as required.
• Assemble sign panels, brackets, and mounting hardware.
• Verify proper sign height, offset, orientation, and spacing to meet NCDOT standards.
• Load, unload, and transport materials safely.
• Operate company trucks, trailers, and light construction equipment.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Follow OSHA, MUTCD, and NCDOT safety requirements.
• Work safely around live traffic with proper traffic control procedures.
• Complete work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and project managers.
