Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct traffic around construction sites and work zones. The role requires setting up signs, cones, and barricades, using hand signals and paddles, and maintaining safety for workers and motorists.

The position is non-exempt and outdoors, with weather exposure and the need to stand for long periods. Candidates should have ATSSA Flagger training, a valid driver's license, and be able to travel statewide as required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records.
• Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• ATSSA Flagger training and company Defensive Driver training completed.
• Wear proper safety equipment (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Operate 2-way radio and communicate with contractors and teams.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and traffic settings.
• Rotate on-call schedule and travel statewide as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones, and other traffic control devices around work areas to divert traffic.
• Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members using two-way radios.
• Regularly stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to and from job sites.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Exposure to outside weather conditions and moving traffic; wear PPE.
• Follow Company Policies and Procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
