Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Technician in Georgia to perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks under close supervision. Training in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance will be provided as part of the role.

Responsibilities include culvert work, mowing and brush clearing, pavement patches, storm cleanup, fence and sign repairs, litter removal, and operating highway maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season display.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
