Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) seeks a Highway Maintenance Technician to perform highway maintenance duties and related tasks under supervision. The role involves training in routine road maintenance and operating standard equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Physical stamina and adaptability are required for this field-based position.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules or workloads.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mow and clear brush from roadsides.
• Patch broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
