Job summary

Milwaukee County Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker II for a regular, full-time assignment. Under supervision, you will perform unskilled or semi-skilled construction-related labor on state, county, and interstate highways, operating equipment and supporting winter maintenance tasks.

The role requires a Wisconsin residency, a valid Class B CDL, and a high school diploma or GED, with the ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin resident is required.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment and perform road maintenance.
• Snow removal and de-icing duties.
• Pave and repair bituminous pavement and concrete.
• Grass mowing, tree removal, culvert and ditch maintenance.
• Traffic control for lane closures.
