Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Rockwood, CO. You will work in a team to maintain roadways, respond to weather emergencies, and operate heavy equipment in varying conditions.

A valid CDL A or B is required, with on-call and overtime during emergencies. You will contribute to keeping Colorado roadways safe and open, while enjoying benefits such as paid time off, health insurance, and retirement options through PERA.

Competenze

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Mansioni

• Plowing snow
• Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, tractors
• Mow grass and weeds
• Remove debris from roadways including rocks and mud
• Remove debris from culverts and tunnels
• Shovel gravel, sand, concrete, and asphalt
• Dig ditches
• Install and repair guardrail, highway markers, signs, and lighting
• Fill potholes and roadway cracks
• Set out signs and cones for traffic control
• Remove graffiti
• Install pavement markings/striping
• Stop or slow traffic in emergencies
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs
• Follow safety guidance and wear PPE
