Job summary

State of Colorado (CDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist for Ft. Morgan. You will be part of a team maintaining highways, responding to weather emergencies, and operating heavy equipment in a demanding outdoor environment.

The role requires on-call work, adherence to safety protocols, and a readiness to work in varying weather and elevation conditions. A strong commitment to public safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and elevations.
• Ability to work in a team and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and maintaining roadways.
• Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors.
• Mowing grass, removing debris, and clearing culverts and signs.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, markings, and traffic control devices.
• Maintaining equipment and following safety guidelines.
• Be on-call and respond to weather emergencies and other incidents.
