Job summary

The State of Colorado’s Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist to support NW Denver, CO. The role requires a Class A/B CDL, two years of physical labor or heavy equipment experience, and a commitment to safety in varied weather and road conditions.

You will operate heavy equipment, install and repair safety features, perform road maintenance, and respond to emergencies on a rotating on-call basis.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow
• Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks and loaders
• Mowing grass and weeds along roadways
• Removing debris from roadways, culverts, and ditches
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, pavement markings and lighting
• Responding to weather and emergency conditions; on-call and rotating shifts
