Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist for Rockwood, CO. You’ll perform highway maintenance, operate heavy equipment, and respond to weather-related events in a team setting.

The role includes on-call duties, a 4-day summer schedule (Mon-Thu, 10-hour days), and eligibility for housing stipends plus overtime during emergencies. Must have a valid CDL A or B with air-brakes. Join CDOT to help keep Colorado roadways safe and open.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restriction on air brakes.
• Heavy equipment operation experience is required and valued.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and operating heavy equipment.
• Mowing grass and weeds, removing debris from roadways and culverts.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, and lighting; maintaining pavement markings.
