The State of Colorado’s Department of Transportation in Superior, CO seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist to maintain roadways, operate heavy equipment, and respond to weather emergencies. This role includes outdoor, physically demanding work with on-site collaboration among maintenance teams.

Two years of labor or heavy equipment experience and a valid CDL (Class A or B) are required. The position offers full-time hours, overtime opportunities during weather events, and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restriction on air brakes.
• Excellent safety mindset and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies outside regular hours.

Responsabilités

• Plowing snow.
• Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, tractors.
• Mowing grass and weeds.
• Installing and repairing guardrail, highway markers and signs, lighting.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs.
• Setting out signs and cones for traffic control.
