Job summary

TxDOT Odessa District is seeking Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II/III for the Midland Maintenance Office. The role involves operating light/heavy equipment, performing roadway maintenance, traffic control, and assisting the public during emergencies.

The job includes inspections, basic repairs, and collaboration with local agencies on roadway projects. Ideal candidates will have experience with highway maintenance, safety procedures, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, or related work is required or preferred.
• Ability to operate light and heavy highway equipment and perform basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highways and rights-of-way; perform roadway repairs and install signs and traffic devices.
• Operate equipment safely and perform PMI and routine servicing on equipment.
• Assist with traffic control, site safety, and emergency response duties.
• Inspect and document maintenance activities and materials in project records.
