Job summary

TxDOT's Fort Worth District is seeking one Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II to operate equipment, install and repair signs and barricades, perform roadway maintenance, and assist with traffic control in Cleburne, Texas. The role requires the ability to work outdoors, comply with safety standards, and potentially respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• No education required.
• TMT I requires no experience.
• TMT II requires 1 year of experience.
• Experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work experience may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists in identifying, repairing and installing signs, delineators, mailbox supports and posts; performs basic welding; uses/moves equipment and materials.
• Assists with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades; flags traffic.
• Maintains highways and rights-of-way; performs roadway repairs; erects and repairs guard rails, highway markers and signs; hauls materials and equipment to job sites.
• Operates light and heavy highway equipment including front-end loaders, rollers, and backhoes.
