Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks a Supervisory Maintenance unit member for the Oberlin Maintenance Unit (D07 Lake Charles Maintenance). The role reports to the Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent and ensures DOTD standards are met across highways and bridges.

Work involves night calls, daily material ordering, and administering crew training; must maintain CDL Class A and pass random drug testing. Work hours are 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Thursday.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, or grounds.
• Four years of experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial or heavy mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Mobile Equipment Operators performing maintenance to the highways and bridges.
• Prepares daily labor and equipment report. Orders materials daily.
• Guides and instructs assigned personnel to see that Highway Standards are met.
• Conducts routine administration meetings and training.
• Works emergencies at night.
• May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
