Job summary

The State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) District 07 in Lake Charles, is seeking a Transportation Operations Supervisor to lead the Oberlin Maintenance Unit and oversee Mobile Equipment Operators on highways and bridges.

The role requires guiding crews to meet Highway Standards, preparing daily labor/equipment reports, and daily material orders. Night work and emergency responses are expected as needed. Exact duties may vary with assignments.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, or grounds.
Four years of experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial or heavy mobile equipment.
Experience in any combination of the qualifying fields will be accepted.
Must possess a Class A CDL license and meet all structured training requirements.

Responsibilities

Supervises the Mobile Equipment Operators performing maintenance to the highways and bridges.
Prepares daily labor and equipment report. Orders materials daily.
Guides and instructs assigned personnel to see that Highway Standards are met.
Conducts routine administration meetings and training.
Works emergencies at night.
May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
