Job summary

The State of South Carolina, Department of Transportation, seeks a skilled equipment operator to haul materials and perform road and bridge maintenance duties. You will operate tandem dump trucks and multiple heavy machines while following safety policies.

Responsibilities include site observations, material handling, and supporting emergency operations as needed. A valid driver’s license is required now, with CDL appropriate training within six months of placement.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Operates tandem dump truck in hauling maintenance and construction materials.
• Performs skilled manual labor and operates equipment for roads and bridges maintenance.
• Operates front-end loader, backhoe and motor grader as needed.
• May assist in emergency and inclement weather operations.
