Job summary

The State of South Carolina, Department of Transportation, is seeking a skilled worker to operate a tandem dump truck for maintenance and construction material hauling across the state highway system. You will handle concrete pipe, asphalt, dirt, and drainage work while supporting road and bridge projects.

Responsibilities include operating front-end loader, backhoe, and motor grader; performing pre-trip inspections; and assisting in emergency weather operations, with extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of related work experience or equivalent.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Operate tandem dump truck for maintenance and construction material hauling.
• Operate front-end loader, backhoe, and motor grader in maintenance activities.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and document findings.
• Assist in emergency or inclement weather operations and extended shifts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
