Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance and operate medium equipment (tandem dump truck, large roller, aggregate spreader, skid steer).
• Patch road surfaces, install driveways, resurface with hot plant and cold plant mix, and asphalt surfacing.
• Place traffic control devices and flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Inspect state roads in Edgefield County for pavement deficiencies twice yearly and track work performed.
• Conduct pre-trip safety inspections and maintain equipment; assist crews as needed.
• Respond to emergency or inclement weather operations and may work extended shifts.
