Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years experience in highway construction, maintenance and repair.
• Must obtain Wisconsin CDL Class A with N endorsement within six months of hire.
• Flagger (Traffic Control) and Traffic Incident Management Training certifications preferred.
• MSHA Miner training and First Aid/CPR beneficial.
• Ability to operate a range of highway maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead in department safety and training activities on-site.
• Perform labor in constructing, maintaining, and repairing highways, bridges, and rights-of-way.
• Operate light and heavy trucks and a variety of equipment.
• Set up and maintain traffic control devices per guidelines.
• Read and follow construction plans and grade controls.
