Job summary

I-66 Express Mobility Partners is seeking a Roadway Trainer to design and deliver training for incident response, maintenance tasks, and seasonal readiness. The role may include working as a technician to support field operations and safety-focused performance.

The trainer will build the training program, collaborate with Incident Response and Maintenance teams, and maintain records in the LMS. Strong instructional and coaching skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification, vocational training, OSHA certification, or instructor/trainer certification preferred.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in traffic control, roadway maintenance and incident command systems (ICS).
• Prior experience training, mentoring, coaching, or instructing technical staff strongly preferred.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LMS/e-learning tools, and digital training records.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, update, and deliver roadway maintenance and incident response training programs, lesson plans, and materials.
• Conduct classroom, field, and on-the-job training for maintenance crews.
• Demonstrate proper roadway maintenance techniques and safety procedures.
• Train staff on operation and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Deliver safety training on work zone traffic control, PPE, and emergency response.
• Monitor field activities for safety and quality, and assess knowledge through tests.
• Provide coaching and corrective training, identify skill gaps, and support development.
• Lead by example in safety and operational excellence.
