Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation in Roseburg is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist to operate a range of heavy and light equipment, perform road repairs, and support emergency response for weather-related events. The role requires CDL-A with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain one within a specified period.

You will perform pothole and surface repairs, maintain drainage and vegetation, and assist with safety and incident response on highways and bridges.

Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience OR two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways, bridges, and structures.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies, snow plowing, and deicer operations.
• Perform pothole patching, concrete patching, and minor inlay work.
• Clear debris, mow vegetation, and maintain fences, guardrails, and drainage systems.
• Maintain and repair related tools and equipment; handle basic janitorial and light carpentry tasks.
