Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of maintenance or construction experience in roadway, highway, bridge, sign, drawbridge, or landscape.
• CDL-A with tanker endorsement; ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 30 days; no air brake restrictions.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; FMCSA checks for final candidates and annual checks for current employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, schedule and assign work including night and weekend shifts.
• Ensure crews have resources: materials and equipment for projects.
• Review and approve time records, overtime, vacation, sick time and leave requests.
• Assist with hiring and selection; provide recommendations to management.
• Train employees on operating heavy and light equipment safely.
• Review crew work and provide input to the maintenance manager on performance.
• Assist planning and budgeting for maintenance.
• Patrol highways and structures; respond to emergencies.
• Must be able to move around rough terrain and lift up to 75 pounds.
• May work long hours, after hours, weekends and holidays for emergency, on-call needs.
