Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Transportation Engineering – Roadway/Highway Design Internship for Summer 2026. The internship will be based in Wichita, KS, Manhattan, KS, Kansas City, KS, or Overland Park, KS offices with mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to project sites.

You will contribute to highway and roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation, gaining hands-on experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, while developing communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling experience a plus, but not required).

Responsibilities

• Assist highway/roadway design tasks for projects.
• Support traffic analysis and plan preparation.
