Job summary
Benesch is seeking a Civil Intern (Highway/Roadway) to join our Transportation and Highway Design team during the summer of 2026. You will contribute to highway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation under the guidance of senior engineers.
You will gain hands-on experience with design software and collaborative project delivery. We welcome students pursuing Civil Engineering degrees (Bachelor's or Master's) with interest in transportation engineering, strong communication and teamwork
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering.
- Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling a plus).
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple assignments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with highway and roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation.
- Gain hands-on experience with engineering design software and construction documentation.
- Support collaborative project delivery under mentorship from senior engineers.
