Job summary

GFT is seeking a Team Leader/Sr Project Manager - Roadway Engineering to join our Transportation Team in Omaha, NE. This hybrid role blends technical leadership with project delivery across highways, intersections, and bridge rehabilitation.

Candidates should have 15+ years of roadway engineering, proven team leadership, and a PE license (NE or IA preferred). You will guide design submittals, manage budgets, nurture client relationships, and ensure safe, efficient multijurisdiction project

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Minimum of 15 years of professional roadway engineering experience.
Experience leading a team.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), preferably NE or IA.
Experience in design and preparation of plan submittals for highway/arterial roadway design, intersections, drainage and bridge projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and related engineering software.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee transportation facility design projects (highways, arterials, intersections, drainage, and site design).
Provide direction to project teams and ensure quality and timely deliverables.
Review shop drawings during construction and respond to client questions.
Oversee team members and manage labor projections and staffing.
Control project budgets and utilization; coordinate with the Business Manager for PM meetings.
