Job summary

GFT is seeking a Sr. Highway/Roadway Project Engineer to support our Transportation group across the Midwest, including Kansas City, St. Louis, Witchita, and Omaha. Work is hybrid with at least 3 days onsite.

You will design roadway projects, coordinate with public clients, mentor staff, and advance resilient transportation infrastructure while delivering quality on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active PE license in KS/MO/NE (or ability to obtain).
• 10+ years in transportation design with highway focus.
• Experience with State DOT/local design projects.
• Proficient in MicroStation/OpenRoads and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of roadway design concepts and criteria.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet quality and schedule targets.
• Mentor junior staff and support client-facing activities.
• Develop proposals and manage project scope and budgets.
• Ensure QA/QC across design deliverables.
