Job summary

West Virginia Transportation Department seeks a Transportation Engineer 2 to lead the I Squad in the In-House Design Section. You will supervise engineers and technicians, coordinate with multiple divisions, and oversee the development of construction and right-of-way plans, PS&E packages, and site reviews.

Requires a P.E. license in WV (or comity within 6 months) and a ABET-accredited degree. Travel may be required; driving license is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, engineering technology, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of West Virginia (or eligible by comity within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Act as the I Squad Leader and responsible engineer in charge of assigned projects.
• Lead design teams and supervise engineers-in-training and technicians.
• Develop construction and right-of-way plans, perform scoping and peer plan reviews, assemble PS&E packages.
• Coordinate with divisions, districts, and consultants; conduct site review meetings.
