Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 to oversee planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations of highways and related facilities. You will serve as a project manager in the Bridge Review Section, applying engineering judgment within policy and coordinating reviews for accuracy, schedule and budgets.

The position requires a PE in WV (or comity), a BS in civil or related field from an ABET-accredited program, at least five years of bridge experience, and a

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in WV or eligible by comity within 6 months.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in civil engineering or related field.
• Five years of bridge experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project reviews for accuracy and completeness.
• Keep projects on schedule and within budget; obtain permits as needed.
• Apply knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and WVDOH standards in designs.
• May supervise lower-level staff and coordinate with other units.
