Job summary

West Virginia is seeking an entry level professional engineer within the Engineering In-House Design Section. The incumbent will serve as a project manager for assigned projects and coordinate with divisions, districts, and consultants on construction and right-of-way plans.

The role includes assisting with project scoping, peer plan reviews, assembling PS&E packages, and conducting site visit review meetings. OpenRoads Designer knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of West Virginia or comity eligibility within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, engineering technology, or related field from an ABET‑accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager for assigned projects and coordinate with Divisions, Districts, and consultants on construction and right‑of‑way plans.
• Assist with project scoping, peer plan reviews, and assembling PS&E packages for construction.
• Conduct site visit review meetings during project development and supervise Engineers‑in‑Training and other staff as needed.
• Travel may be required; a valid driver's license is required.
