Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Inland Northwest team in Spokane, WA, or nearby offices. You will lead roadway design tasks through concept to final plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary group and clients.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, PE licensure in ID/WA or ability to obtain WA licensure within six months, and 7+ years of transportation-focused experience. OpenRoads/Civil 3D skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• ID/WA PE licensure or ability to obtain WA licensure within six months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience in transportation.
• Experience developing transportation plans with OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.
• Knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and construction-document requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to coordinate technical work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from conceptual development through final design and construction documents.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, typical sections, grading plans, and intersections.
• Prepare and review plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and reports.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and environmental teams.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of work.
