Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Transportation Project Engineer to lead roadway design on Idaho and Eastern Washington projects. You’ll develop alignments, grading, ADA facilities, and prepare final plans.

You will use OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D, coordinate across disciplines, mentor junior staff, and support project schedules and client meetings. A PE license in Idaho or WA is preferred, with license readiness within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Idaho PE license and WA license, or ability to obtain WA license within six months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience, with substantial transportation design experience.
• Experience developing transportation plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from conceptual development through final design and construction documents.
• Develop horizontal/vertical alignments, profiles, typical sections, and ADA facilities.
• Prepare and review plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and other information.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and environmental teams.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Communicate project details to managers, clients and agencies.
• Support project schedules and client meetings.
• Provide construction support and observations when needed.
