Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) seeks a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Inland Northwest team in Boise, ID or nearby locations. You will lead roadway design tasks from concept to final plans, and collaborate with clients and agencies to deliver safe, efficient transportation infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, Idaho PE and WA eligibility, and 7+ years of transportation experience. Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Current Idaho Professional Engineer license and WA license, or ability to obtain WA licensure within six months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience with substantial transportation design experience.
• Experience developing transportation plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate technical work and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from conceptual development through final design and construction documents.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway profiles, typical sections, and related design elements.
• Prepare and review preliminary and final plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and other technical information.
• Prepare and revise technical reports, specifications, quantities, costs, and design documentation.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and other disciplines.
• Serve as a roadway task lead, monitor progress, and manage scope/budgets.
• Delegate work to junior staff and review work products for quality.
• Communicate project-specific technical information to project managers, clients, and agencies.
• Support project schedules and participate in client/agency meetings.
