Job summary

Iaas Lc is seeking a student intern in Austin, TX to assist with geometric road design, drainage planning, and MPT development. You will work with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, and AutoTURN to prepare plans and drawings for highways and local roads.

The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to travel as needed for project assignments. A Civil/Traffic Engineering student with strong communication skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning.
• GPA of 3.0+ preferred.
• Familiarity with Guidesign and AutoTURN highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using national and local codes.
• Develop concept layouts and preliminary road designs.
• Prepare Traffic Signalization drawings and plans.
• Design roadway drainage networks and stormwater plans.
• Review construction specifications and estimate costs and quantities.
• Prepare Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT).
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, and AutoTURN for design documents.
• Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities.
• Travel as required based on business needs.
