Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Traffic Engineering to join our collaborative team in Austin, TX. You will assist with traffic/transportation project work, exposure to transportation impact studies, parking studies, and traffic signal design, with opportunities for field work and data collection.

The role offers hands-on experience in traffic engineering, reports, and graphics alongside the Site/Civil group, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Active student pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
• Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO and the MUTCD is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic observation.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans and specifications for traffic/transportation projects such as transportation impact studies and highway occupancy permits.
• Observe construction site activities and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested by the project team.
