Job summary

Iaas Lc in Austin, TX is seeking a Civil Engineering intern to assist with planning, design, and permitting of civil projects. You’ll prepare documents and use AutoCAD/Civil 3D while analyzing soils, terrain, and hydrology data. Travel may be required to support project assignments.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specs, plans, schedules, and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photos to assess soil, terrain, hydrology, topography, and geology.
• Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments; assist with sidewalk cost estimations; assess project feasibility from data analysis.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics techniques.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
