Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking Construction Inspector Trainees in the Raleigh, NC area to support our Transportation division and grow our Construction Management and CEI practice statewide.

This role offers hands-on training, safety-first culture, and opportunities to obtain necessary certifications while working on major transportation projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn construction inspection and material testing under experienced staff, with daily travel to job sites and the ability

Qualifications

• No prior construction inspection experience required.
• Must possess required certifications within 6 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Apply safety philosophy to all job responsibilities and work safely outdoors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls for the construction contractor and inspection of the work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and sampling.
• Perform measurement and documentation of completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
• Communicate effectively with project staff and clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic knowledge of computer and tablet operation.
