Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Ogden, UT seeks an experienced Highway Construction Equipment Operator to drive and operate heavy machinery on road projects. You will prepare ground surfaces, excavate, and lay asphalt or concrete while following blueprints and project specs.

The role requires 2–5+ years of concrete and road construction equipment experience, a CDL Class A or B (often), OSHA training, NCCER or equivalent certification, and proficiency with blueprints and GPS guidance systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training; completion of a heavy equipment operator apprenticeship.
• Experience: 2–5+ years operating heavy machinery on road construction sites.
• Licenses/Certifications: CDL Class A or B often required; OSHA 10/30; NCCER or equivalent heavy equipment operator cert.
• Technical: Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, site plans, and GPS control technology.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction machinery safely and efficiently.
• Prepare ground surfaces; excavate, grade, and level according to plans.
• Perform pre/post shift inspections and routine maintenance.
• Adhere to OSHA and DOT safety standards and site policies.
• Coordinate machine movements with crews using signals and radios.
