Job description

Operate heavy equipment on civil and highway construction projects — excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, rollers, and specialty equipment depending on the project.

You'll work alongside foremen and crews to grade, excavate, place stone and asphalt, and finish the work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned heavy equipment on active job sites.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspect equipment every shift; report issues to the shop.
• Work to grade and finish per drawings and superintendent direction.
• Coordinate with truck drivers and ground crew on loading, dumping, and staging.
• Maintain awareness of pedestrians, traffic control, and underground utilities.
• Assist with hand work, rigging, and crew tasks between operating assignments.
• Keep the cab and equipment clean; light maintenance and grease as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years operating heavy equipment in civil, highway, or site-development work.
• Proficient with at least three of: excavator, dozer, wheel loader, motor grader, roller, skid steer.
• Current OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 a plus).
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
