Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. seeks an experienced Equipment Operator to handle heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and graders on construction sites.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years (6,000 hours) of operating experience, safety know‑how, and an OCI Equipment Qualification card for the unit operated. Must hold NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations, NCCER Highway/Heavy Construction, NCCER Rigger and NCCER Site Layout credentials; a valid CDL is required when on public roads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years or 6,000 hours of working experience as an equipment operator.
• Must have working knowledge of operating limitations and safe work practices for each machine.
• Commercial driver's license required when operating on public roads.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric equipment to move objects or material per project specs.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and move loads using trucks, tractors, and related equipment.
• Perform light maintenance and document maintenance logs; conduct daily inspections.
