Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Irving, TX office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join our Roadway team. This is an on-site role focused on design and project support.

You will assist with alignments, drainage and roadway improvements, participate in multimodal design, and gain mentorship while contributing to plan production, client interactions and project budgets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm
• Bachelor's or Master's from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities

• Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments
• Support grading and drainage design
• Contribute to streetscape and roadway improvements
• Participate in multimodal design, including multi-use trails and complete streets
• Prepare signage, striping and signalization plans
• Receive training and mentorship while engaging with plan production, project financials, and client interactions
