Kimley-Horn's Ashburn, VA office seeks a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. The role involves supporting project managers on horizontal/vertical alignments, drainage design and complete streets, with mentorship and exposure to plans and client interactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering (BS or MS).
• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with a variety of civil engineering tasks.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, grading and drainage design, streetscape and roadway improvements.
• Engage in multimodal design including trails and complete streets.
• Prepare signage, striping and signalization plans.
• Participate in plan production, project financials and client interactions with mentorship.
