Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Irving, Texas (TX) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

The role supports a variety of civil engineering tasks including alignments, grading, drainage, and multimodal design, with on-the-job training and mentorship. You will work with project managers and gain exposure to plan production and client interactions while contributing to design documentation and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience with civil design tasks and a desire to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with civil design tasks.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments and drainage concepts.
• Assist with streetscape and roadway improvements.
• Contribute to multimodal design including trails and complete streets.
• Create signage, striping and signal plans.
• Participate in plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
