Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking experienced Engineering Technicians/Construction Inspectors for Division 9 in Winston-Salem, NC and surrounding areas. Ideal candidates hold NCDOT CEI certifications and have CEI experience on DOT projects.

Responsibilities include daily construction observation, materials review, field measurements, and reporting. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and be able to work on-site in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or BS in Civil Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with NCDOT projects is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Must complete OSHA 10 within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily observation of construction activities and document using reports/forms.
• Review materials for contract and specification compliance.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans.
• Evaluate materials and placement of culverts and structural operations.
• Monitor pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Verify lines, grades, dimensions and elevations using survey equipment.
• Perform accurate calculations and computations.
• Sample and test construction materials to meet project specs.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance to documents.
• Report non-compliance actions and safety violations to supervisor.
• Record Daily Work Reports with quantities and shift activities.
